DESIGNER OF EXCLUSIVE CLOTHING FOR ARTIST DOLLS
Hello! My name is Yulia Anteja. I am a designer and the founder of Ombra di seta (“Silk Shade”), a brand of exclusive clothing for artist dolls, based in Tuapse, Russia.
Inspired by historical costume, haute couture and fantasy stories, I create micro-couture outfits that turn a collectible doll into a true masterpiece. My work does not end with the last stitch: I photograph my own pieces, so that a thoughtful artistic frame can reveal the character, the aesthetic and the unique atmosphere of every look.
Crocheted clothing for BJD dolls from the finest silk
Ombra di seta creates handmade crocheted clothing for collectible artist BJD dolls. I crochet with the finest silk threads and have worked with this material for almost 17 years. My collections include dresses, sundresses, tops, headwear, lingerie and accessories for ¼-scale dolls, teen dolls and tiny 21 cm dolls.
For my work I choose Madeira and Gütermann silk threads for hand embroidery, bobbin silk from Italy and, at times, vintage lace and antique materials. I crochet lace patterns by feel, without a drawn pattern. Some pieces are released as limited outfits, one of a kind.
